In 1986 in Ukranian-USSR, a safety test on the Chernobyl powerplant caused an explosion, killing around 30 people directly, and is highly radioactive today causing mutations and birth defects to this day.
Bhopal Disaster
In 1984, a chemical leak from a Pesticide plant released a highly toxic gas, killing between 30,000-10,000 people in the immediate days, and in years later health issues and birth defects.
Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill 2010
In 2010, an explosion occurred on the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico, releasing 134 million gallons of oil into the surrounding water over the next 87 days. This had severe effects on the surrounding ecosystems and coastal communities.
