What are coastal landscapes?
The coast is where land meets the sea.
Coastal Landscapes are shaped by wind and waves.
The wind and waves erode and build the landscape.
What are some examples of Coastal Landscapes?
Beaches
Dunes
Bays
Cliffs
What is a riverine landscape and how are they formed?
Riverine landscapes are formed by natural movement of a water system, such as a river. (Include the ecosystem surrounding the system).
Why is a riverine landscapes useful?
Riverine landscapes are good for agricultural uses, such as farming, because the land is fertile.
Am example, the Murray River.
What is a desert landscape?
A desert is an area which receives less than 25ml of rain per year.
Deserts cover 1/3 of the Earth’s surface.
What are the 2 types of deserts?
Hot - Along the tropics. Example: Sahara Desert-Africa
Cold -Located closer to the Arctic & Antarctic circles. Example: Arctic desert
What is a Karst Landscape?
Karst landscapes form when easily dissolvable bedrock is worn away by acidic water.
What are some examples of a Karst landscape?
Caves
Sinkholes
Stalactites
Tropical Landscapes, what are they?
Tropical landscapes are found near the equator.
Receive about 1500mL per year
Example: The Amazon Rainforest

Human landscapes are created by humans and are shaped by their needs.
