What is a noun?
A noun is a name of a place, thing, or a person.

What is a proper noun?
A proper noun is a name of a SPECIFIC person, place or thing. The first letter is usually capitalised.
What is a common noun?
A common noun is a name of a non-specific person, place or thing and is not capitalised.
What is a verb?
Verb is an action or state of mind.
Is, am and are all verbs.
What is subject and object
Subject is what the verb is done by.
Object is what the verb is done to.
What is an adjective?
An adjective describes a noun
What is modal verbs?
Expresses necessity and possibility.
Should, must, can
What is an imperative?
An imperative is a command
What is a pronoun?
A pronoun is used in place of a noun.
What is superlative?
The adjective showing highest quality or degree.

What is comparative adjectives?
Adjective that compares two or more things.
- taller, greater, better (ER)
What is symbolism?
The use of symbols to represent something like an idea.
What is alliteration?
The same letter starting for 2 or more words that are close to each other.
What is a simile?
A simile compares two or more things using the word ‘like’ or ‘as’.
What is a metaphor?
A metaphor compares one thing to another directly.
What is personification?
Giving human qualities to non-human things.
What is hyperbole?
Hyperbole is exaggeration of something.
What is imagery?
Imagery is vivid description.
What is simple sentence?
Contains one clause with the subject and the verb.
What is connotation?
Connotation is the feeling implied by the word.
What is a compound sentence?
Contained two independent clauses joined by co-ordinating conjunction.
What is complex sentence?
Contains one independent and one dependent clause joined by sub-ordinating conjunction.
What is repetition?
Repeating a word or a phrase
