Alliteration

Repetition
When the same word or phrase is repeated several times
Rhetorical Questions
A question being asked for effect. The answer is implied, it does not require an answer
Facts
Something that is true and can be proven
Statistics
Using numbers to present as a fact
Rule of Three
Using a list of three things, events or characters for effect. This technique is often used for emphasis and can be persuasive
Direct address
Where the writer communicates something directly to the reader using their name or pronouns
Hyperbolae
When a writer exaggerates to persuade the reader and can be used to emphasise points e.g. the seriousness of a situation

Verbs at the start at a sentence, usually a command
