Laryngeal Cancer Symptoms

A
  • Hoarseness = cancer on squamous cells on vfolds make it stiff
  • Persistent Cough
  • Sore Lump
  • Dysphagia
  • Unexplained Weight Loss
  • Persistent Throat/EarPain
  • Dyspnea/Stridor = trouble breathing
  • Subglottal Stenosis: webbing around trachea - mimics asthma

1. Electrolarynx

A

Stim. tiss. which stim. air. In non-dominant hand, OVER articulate.
Intelligibility: timing & holding air-pressure
Trouble with fricatives & affricates.
