What is inter-arytenoid pachyderma a sign of?



Where do the supraglottis, glottis, and subglottis begin and end

Supraglottis: Tip of epiglottis to floor of ventricular fold
Glottis: TVF to 5mm below TVF
Subglottis: 5mm below TVF to inferior edge of cricoid


What are the 5 layers of the TVF?

1. Stratified squamous epithelium
2. Superficial lamina propria (Reinke's space)
3. Intermediate lamina propria
4. Deep lamina propria
5. Thyroarytenoid muscle complex


Superficial lamina propria of the TVF

Reinke's space
Amorphous loose fibrous matrix allowing fluid like motion of the vocal fold
Part of the vocal fold cover along with the squamous epithelium


The vocal ligament

comprises the intermediate lamina propria (elastin) and the deep lamina propria (fibroblasts and dense collagen)


What are the 3 branches of the vagus nerve?
