What is a level one offence?

A

Wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match; showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action; using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting; an obscene gesture; appealing excessively; advancing towards an umpire in an aggressive manner when appealing and any other conduct the umpires decide is a level one offence

What happens when a level one offence happens?

A

Inform the offenders captain, issue a first and final warning, anymore offences = 5 penalty runs

What is a level 2 offence?

A

showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action, making inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with another player, throwing the ball at someone, using language or gesture that is seriously insulting in nature

What do you do in a level 2 offence?

A

Same as lvl 1, award 5 penalty runs to the opposition

What is a level 3 offence?

A

Intimidating an umpire by language or gesture and threatening to assault anyone (except the umpire)

What do you do in the event of a level 3 offence?

A

Remove the player from play, of 10 overs if not limited overs, or 1/5 of overs in innings. If it is a fielder, they aren’t eligible for a substitute (unless a wicket keeper). Award 5 penalty runs and signal a lvl 3 offence to scorer

What is a level 4 offence?

A

Threatening to assault an umpire, making delibarate and inappropriate contact with an umpire, physically assaulting someone or any other act of violence

A

Suspend the player from the remaining amount of time of the match, award 5 penalty runs, signal a level 4 to the scorer
