Simon Peter’s name appears more often in the gospels than any of the
other disciples.
Peter is the first to identify Jesus as the Messiah.
3
Peter made mistakes along with all the other disciples
but Jesus always
forgives them. For example
he denied he knew Jesus three times
was not present at the Crucifixion.
4
Peter gave up his old way of life to follow Jesus completely. Peter was
willing to give up his life in the service of God.
- Although he made some serious mistakes
Peter accepted God’s
forgiveness and successfully led the Church.
6

believed
by Catholics to be the Head of the Church on earth.
