Is a condition of a female who has not experienced sexual intercourse and whose
genital organs have not been altered by carnal connection.
VIRGINITY
A person is called a virgin, if he/she has never had sexual intercourse.

- raw, red, swollen and painful to touch.

usually reach upto the base (vaginal attachment) usually more than 2 tears are not found

• Accidental-fall on projecting object or slipping on furniture
• Vigorous exercise riding, dancing, jumping
• Masturbation
• Foreign body
• Interdiction of instruments-like in gynaecological surgeries
• Ulceration- diphtheria related fungal infections
• Scratching
• Sanitary tampons
• Thick, fleshy type
• Loose, folded, elastic type
• Annular hymen (fringe like)

Medicolegal importance of VIRGINITY
● Presence of unruptured HYMEN affords presumption of VIRGINITY but not an
absolute proof.
● Nullity of marriage
● Divorce
● Defamation
● Rape
- Pertains to a woman whose body is pure and is she has
never had any sexual intercourse with another, though her mind and heart are impure.
VIRTOUS FEMALE
- State of not knowing the nature of sexual life and not having experienced sexual relation.
Moral Virginity
applies to children below puberty and whose sex organs and secondary sex characters are not yet developed.
