lec 6 Flashcards
(26 cards)
duodenal blood supply
Upper half by superior pancreatico- duodenal branch of gastroduodenal artery.
Lower half by inferior pancreaticoduodenal branch of superior mesenteric artery.
venous drainage of duodenal
upper half -> superior pancreaticoduodenal into portal vein
lower half –> inferior pancreaticoduodenal into superior mesenteric vein
lymph drainage of duodenal
upward -> celiac nodes
downward –> superior mesenteric nodes
duodenojejunal flexure is connected tothe diaphgram by
the ligament of Treitz
jejunum mesentery is attached to the posterior abdominal wall
above and to the left of the abdominal aorta.
The ileal mesentery is attached to
below and to the right of aorta.
retrocecal recess contains
vermiform appendix, femoral nerve, and lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh.
blood supply of cecum
The anterior and posterior caecal branches of ileocolic artery (a branch of superior mesenteric artery
In relation to the anterior abdominal wall, the base of appendix is situated
one third of the way up the line joining the right anterior superior iliac spine to the umbilicus
blood supply of appendix
The appendicular branch of posterior caecal artery
Afferent nerve fibers concerned with conduction of visceral pain from appendix enter spinal cord at level of
T10 segment
the colon relation to protonium
retroperitoneal
small intestine relation with protonium
totally covered , freely movable
ascending colon is placed in
right hypochondriac + right lumber regions
ascending colon posterior relations
Quadratus lumborum, origin of transverses abdominis, iliacus, and lower end of R. kidney.
The lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh, and frequently the ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric nerves cross behind it.
blood supply for ascending colon
The ileocolic and right colic branches of superior mesenteric artery
the site of trensverse colon in relation to anterior abdominal wall
umblical region + left hypochondriac
The left colic (splenic) flexure It is attached to the diaphragm, opposite
10th 11th ribs phrenicocolic ligament
phrenicocolic ligament lies
below the lateral end of the spleen
transverse colon Posterior Relations
2nd part of duodenum, head of pancreas, and coils of small intestine
coils of small intestine are anterior to—– and posterior to
duodenum + cecum + ascending +descending colon+ sigmoid colon
posterior to transverse colon
transverse colon Superior relations
Liver, gall bladder, greater curvature of stomach, and lateral end of spleen.
blood supply of transverse mesocolon
The proximal two-thirds of the transverse colon is supplied by middle colic branch of superior mesenteric artery. The distal third by left colic branch of inferior mesenteric artery.
transverse colon lymph drainage
Lymph vessels from proximal two-thirds of
transverse colon drain into superior mesenteric nodes
Vessels from distal third of transverse –> inferior mesenteric nodes
