Q

What happens when cylinders are in parallel?

A

They perform a delayed action since the least loaded cylinder has to operate first before the heavier load cylinder

Q

What happens when cylinders are in series?

A

The unloaded cylinder is first in line to the pump, can perform pressure amplification

Q

How do compressors work?

A

Takes in atmospheric air which, as the weather changes, contains a variable amount of moisture

When the air is compressed the temperature and pressure of the air changed and the moisture condenses out of the air and pools into water inside the air tank i.e. the air in a compressor is not dry

This water is potentially corrosive to many pneumatic components and has to be removed or regularly drained
