Lecture 13 Flashcards
What kind of experiment is a mother that is homozygous for loss-of-function mutants of the torso locus
Lose it. They produce embryos lacking acron and telson (termini)
Synthesized by the nurse cells and where does it go/what does it do
torso+ mRNA. Enters cytoplasm through cytoplasmic bridges not localized
When is torso+ mRNA translated.
After fertilization.
After fertilization the torso receptor protein becomes localized where
two poles of the egg, where torso-like is localized.
Where is torso-like expressed and what does it become
It’s expressed in the anterior and posterior by follicle cells and becomes one of the eggshell signals.
Where is trunk mRNA expressed?
in the nurse cells, deposited in the oocyte
Where is trunk protein secreted?
perivitelline space
