  • skin condition between tissue plates that fold onto each other (like underneath breasts)
  • due to moisture being trapped causing maceration of cells (saturated with fluid and breakdown)
  • -> inflammatory cascade which results in a secondary fungal infection (red + purulent discharge)

  • -> cracks due to low moisture
  • tx with wetting and then stockings to help vasculature
  • add steroid cream if infection
