1
Q

What is homeostasis?

Q

Define Feedback

A

When the controlled variable moves too far from the set-point responses from the body attempt to move the variable back to “normal”

3
Q

Define Feedforward

A

Usually when there is an anticipation of an event that will alter a controlled variable, so you many do something to minimise the effect.

Q

Proximal

A

Comparing 1 limb, closer to the limb where it attaches
e.g. Shoulder is proximal to my elbow because it is closer to where the attachment is

Distal

A

Comparing 1 limb , Something is further away to the limb where it attaches.

Q

Division of body - PLANES

17
Q

What is Coronal?

A

Divides the body into front and back sections
e.g. Bread

18
Q

What is Sagittal?

A

Divides the body into left and right pieces
e.g. Hotdog

19
Q

What is Transverse?

A

Divides the body into top and bottom
e.g. Bagel

20
Q

Movement of the body - PLANES

21
Q

Movement of sagittal

A

Back and Forwards movements

22
Q

Movements of Coronal

A

Side to side movements

23
Q

Movement of Transverse

A

Rotating movements

24
Q

ANGULAR MOVEMENTS

25
What is Flexion?
Decreasing angle and fleshy parts of limb are brought closer together
26
What is Extension?
Increasing angle
27
Dorsiflextion
Toes brought up towards face
28
Planterflexion
Toes pointing towards ground
29
Circumlocution
- Combination of 4 movements - Flexion / abduction / extension / adduction - No rotation (important)
