Q

What are some opportunities/limitations of IMUs? (3 & 4)

A

Opportunities:
- Lab-independent
- Long-term monitoring is possible
- Direct quality check is possible

Limitations
- Drift and ferromagnetic influence
- Measurement of accelerations and angular velocities, no position
- Load is only measured indirectly
- Distances determined by integration (gives in complete data with +C)

Q

What is the issue with using filters for your data?

A

The data has the potential to change significantly so it can be difficult to determine an optimal filter.

They still have their uses but it is important to report which filter gets used
