fop (fŏp)
(noun) an excessively fashion-conscious man When he came in wearing a bow tie, sporting a diamond pinky ring, and carrying a pearl-handled cane, we knew he was a fop. syn: dandy

(adj.) commonplace; overused “Good as gold” is a hackneyed expression. syn: trite, banal ant: fresh, imaginative
