how are most ordinals (3rd, 5th, 6th, etc.) formed?
**-adik, -edik, -odik, -ödik **endings after the number
- Most use the ending you would expect based on the vowels in the word.
- BUT once into the 10s, 20s, etc. the ending used does not depend on the vowels in tiz, husz, etc., only on the vowels in the last number...
example: **tizenharm**_a_**dik** (based on a in harm-) and **huszonegy**_e_**dik** (based on e in egy)
51
3rd
harmadik
52
4th
**negyedik**
| (note the loss of accent)
53
6th
**hatodik**
(a little strange because it uses -odik and not -adik...)
54
7th
**hetedik**
| (note the loss of accent on hét)
55
10th
**tizedik**
| (note loss of accent on tíz)
56
