Q

What did Mordecai do when he heard the king’s law to kill all the Jews?

A

When Mordecai heard the news about the king’s law and broke his heart. It caused him to cry aloud as if he was wailing. He put on sack clothes and ashes to show that he was mourning the horrible plot to kill all of God’s people. He sent a messenger to Queen Esther to stop the king from doing this evil.

17
Q

Why did Haman’s plot hurt the Jews?

A

Esther’s uncle Mordecai was supposed to be honored by the king for saving his life and Haman did not like that, due to jealousy. Also Mordecai, a Jew, did not bow down and pay homage to Haman when he passed by. Since Haman was second in control, he influenced the king and made a law to kill all the Jews in Susa. He also told the king that the Jews are working against the king and made the king angry with the Jews.

18
Q

Even when the King was angry with the Jews how did Queen Esther remain as his Queen?

A

As per the advice of Mordecai, Esther concealed her identity and the King did not recognize that she was a Jew.

19
Q

How did God use Esther to save his people?

A
  • Esther was the queen of King Ahasuerus.
  • Haman, who was second in control to the king, was plotting against the Jews and made a law to kill all the Jews in the country.
  • The king only allowed certain people to see him daily and it was not Esther’s turn to see the king when she came to know about Haman’s plot.
  • She was scared to risk her life, as she could be killed for not waiting her turn, but she asked all the Jews including her and her maids to pray and fast for 3 days.
  • She pleased the King by inviting him for a dinner for two consecutive evenings along with Haman. She made the king write a new law to save the Jews.
