- Abolition of the Treaty of Versailles
- Land and territory to support the German population
- The state needs to look after the citizens of Germany
- Only a member of the race can be a citizen - Jews are not citizens
- A strong central government to run Germany

What was the importance of the Reichstag Fire to Hitler increasing his power?
Hitler was able to blame the communists.
Led to the Reichstag Fire Decree = limits on the Communists and on personal freedoms.
Allowed Hitler to limit criticism.
What was the importance of the Enabling Act to Hitler increasing his power?
Gave Hitler 4 years of dictatorial power. He could make laws without having the consent of the Reichstag.
He would never give this power up.
What was the impact of the Night of the Long Knives on Hitler’s position?
- Hitler was able to remove the internal threat of the SA.
- All loyalty was now 100% towards Hitler.
- He was able to get the German army and powerful businessmen.
