List and define the 3 sources of faith
- Scripture: inspired record of how God dealt with his people, and responded to and interpreted their experience with Him.
- Tradition: living heritage passed on from one generation of the Church to the next, including all doctrines and accounts of the faith
- Human Experience: dynamic empirical knowledge from from encountered events in lives of individuals and society that shape their faith
List and define the 3 characteristics of scripture
- Inspiration - a charism / divine activity communicated to individual authors, editors, and the community’s faith –written for the sake of the community itself.
- Inerrancy - Inerrancy of the scripture comes from the INTENT and not its CONTENT.
- Canon - The events and stories from the bible were inspired historical accounts which were chosen to unify the doctrine of the Church.
