Le Mode Impératif - Imperative Mood
It is mainly used to give orders, make requests & recommend something.
Subject pronoun
Unlike all other tenses & moods, the subject pronoun is not used
Close the door
Fermez la porte
Please excuse me
Veuillez m’excuser
Let’s eat now
Mangeons maintenant
Conjugation
Only 3 persons can be used - 2nd person singular (tu) - 1st person plural (nous) - 2nd person plural (vous)
ER Verbs
Same as the present indicative except for the tu form: No ‘S’ Also, this includes the irrigular –IR verbs conjugated as –ER (ouvrir, couvrir, découvrir…)
Parler
(tu) Parle (nous) Parlons (vous) Parlez
Aller
(tu) Va (nous) allons (vous) allez
Ouvrir
(tu) Ouvre (nous) Ouvrons (vous) Ouvrez
IR and RE Verbs
Same as the present indicative… Except for irrigular –IR Verbs conjugated like -ER and the following 4 verbs Avoir, Etre, Savoir, Vouloir

Place “ne” in front of the verb and the negative adverb after
Don’t speak!
