Define recruitment
Recruitment is the process from identifying that the business need to employ someone up to the point at which the applications have arrived at the business.

Define Job Analysis
Job Analysis identifies and records responsibilities and tasks relating to a job.
Define Job description
Job description outlines the responsibilities and duties to be carried out by someone employed to do a specific job.
Define Job specification
Job specification is document which outlines the requirements, qualifications and expertise for a specific job.
List 3 functions of Job description
- Its given to candidates so they exactly know what the job entails
- It will allow for a job specification to be drawn up
- Will show whether the employee is carrying out the job effectively or not..
Define Internal recruitment
Is when a vacancy is filled by someone who is an existing employee of the business
List 2 Advantages of Internal recruitment
- Saves money and time
2. The person is already known as well as their reliability, ability and potential
List 2 Disadvantages of Internal recruitment
- No new ideas come into the business
2. There may be jealousy and rivalry amongst existing employees.
Define external recruitment
Is when a vacancy is filled by someone who is not an existing employee of the business and will be new to the business.

Define part-time employment
Part time employment is often considered to be between 1-35 hours a week.
Define full-time employment
will usually work 35 hours or more a week.
List 3 Advantages of part-time employment
- More Flexible in hours of week
- Less expensive than employing a full time worker
- Easier to ask employees just to work at busy times
List 3 Disadvantages of part-time employment
- Takes longer to recruit 2 part time workers than 1 full time employee
- Employees can be less committed to the business.
- More difficult to communicate with when not in work.
