What is the difference between “I hope” and “I wish”?
I hope = J’espère (Example: I hope the weather will be good during March break.). It is always for something we hope will happen in the future.
I wish has 2 meanings. The first one is “souhaiter” as in in “I wish you a nice vacation.” The second meaning is when you would like a situation to be different than what it actually is or was. E.g.: I wish I had more time to read. I wish I had studied business instead of teaching.
What is “sévère” in English?

What is the difference between the verbs “fire”, “dismiss” and “lay off”?
The term usually (but not always) depends on the reason behind it.
We usually use “fire” when an employee did something serious, such as stealing from their employer.
We usually use the word “dismiss” when an employee’s work is not satisfactory.
Lay off used when there is not enough work to justify keeping a employee. It can either be temporary or permanent.

Generally speaking, customers buy products while clients buy advice and solutions.
Additionally, clients usually have a longer term relationship with your company.
How do we differentiate “Québec” (the city) and “le Québec” (the province) in English?
Le Québec = Quebec
Québec (the city) = Quebec City
