En anglais, “story” et “narrative” sont liés mais distincts :

  • Story : Désigne la séquence d’événements, réels ou fictifs, qui composent une histoire. Elle inclut les personnages, le début, le milieu et la fin, souvent structurés autour d’un conflit ou d’un enjeu[1][4][5].
  • Narrative : Fait référence à la manière dont une histoire est racontée. Cela englobe le style, la perspective (première ou troisième personne, par exemple), le ton et les techniques utilisées pour captiver le public (flashbacks, suspense, etc.)[1][4][12].

En résumé, la story est le contenu brut, tandis que la narrative est l’art de le transmettre.
