Indications and Field Use

A
Suppression of ventricular arrhythmias (vtach, vfib, PVC's)
Frequent PVCs (>6 per min, multifocal PVC's, RonT phenomenon)

Contraindications

A

Use caution in pt with 2nd or 3rd degree HB (conduction disturbances).
Do not treat ectopic beats if HR is < 60 due to compensation.

Adult Dosage

A

Pulseless VT/VF: 1.0-1.5mg/kg IVP every 3-5min to a total of 3mg/kg. Initial bolus of 1.5mg/kg should be given for cardiac arrest situations
Antidysrhythmic or rhythms with a pulse: 1.0-1.5mg/kg IVP. Additional bolus of 0.5-0.75mg/kg every 5-10min until total dose of 3mg/kg
