What are the
key elements of the TGROW Model
T – Topic/Goal: Clarify the goal, make it specific, and actionable.
G – Goal Setting: Define what success looks like and break it into milestones.
R – Reality: Assess the current situation, challenges, and resources.
O – Options: Explore potential solutions and choices.
W – Will: Commit to action, establish accountability, and take the first step.

Focus: What’s the topic or goal that you want to work on today?
Visual Memory Tip: Imagine a target with a bullseye—focus on hitting that specific goal.
Coaching Questions:
“What’s the main goal or issue you want to explore?”
“What outcome are you hoping to achieve?”
“How would you like this conversation to help you today?”
G – Goal Setting: Define what success looks like and break it into milestones.
Focus: What does success look like for your goal?

Coaching Questions: (SMART goal)
“How would you define success in this area?”
“What would need to happen for you to feel that you’ve achieved this goal?”
“What is the first milestone that would show you’re on track?”
Values-Aligned Questions:
“How does this goal connect with your core values?”
“What part of your purpose does this goal support?”
“Why is this goal important to you beyond just the outcome?”

Focus: What’s the current reality around this goal?

Coaching Questions: SCR (Sitation, Challenges, Resources)
“Where are you now in relation to this goal?”
“What is happening that’s helping or hindering progress?”
“What’s the biggest challenge you’re facing at the moment?”
“What resources or support do you have to help you move forward?”
O – Options: Explore potential solutions and choices.
Focus: What are the different ways to approach this goal?

Coaching Questions: (explore new ideas, learning from past experience, evaluate pros & cons)
“What options do you have to move forward?”
“What other ways could you approach this situation?”
“How else could you achieve the outcome you’re looking for?”
“What have you done in the past that might work again here?”
W – Will: Commit to action, take the first step and establish accountability.
Focus: What actions will you take to move forward?

Coaching Questions: ACT [Action (what), Commitment (when), Track progress/Accountability (how)]
“What will be your first step toward this goal?”
“When will you take this step?”
“What’s one action you can commit to now?”
“How would you know you are on track towards this action?”
“How will you hold yourself accountable to taking action?”
“How would you sustain your consistency?”
Values and Purpose-Aligned Questions:
“How will this action reflect your values?”
“How will taking this action help you fulfill your purpose?”
“What motivates you to take this step beyond external rewards?”
