What happened to women, Jews and the “work-shy”
- Women were encouraged to stay at home ( for 1000 marks ) and. they were dismissed from their jobs. Their jobs were given to men
- Jews were dismissed from their jobs and lost their rights. Hence, Nazis. didn’t believe they were statistically relevant
- to be deemed as “work-shy” you would of had to turn down a job and therefore put in a concentration camp
In what ways was Nazi Actions effective?
- unemployment below 1%
- employment in construction rose from 660,000 to more than 2 million from 1933-1936
- Reinhard Programme built 1.8 million new apartments between 1933-1939
In what ways was Nazi Actions ineffective?
- Autarky never succeeded
- by 1939, Germany was still importing 1/3 of their natural resources
- the switch to rearmament weakened the economy
