45
WHAT DOES THE AGB DRIVE?
OIL, FUEL, & HYDRAULIC PUMPS STARTER / GENERATOR
46
OIL TEMP LIMITS:
10 - 121C
47
Describe FIRE DET system:
Helium filled gas inside a stainless steel tube that surrounds the burner can. When there is sufficient heat to expand the gas to a certain point, the pressure sets off the ENGINE FIRE light.
48
What actions occur when ENGINE FIRE switch is pressed?
Fuel, Oil, Hydraulic valves shut Generator field relay open / Generator offline Fire bottles armed
49
BLD AIR O’HEAT
Air leaving the bleed air pre-cooler has exceeded 540F.
50
What are the components of the ANTI-ICE system?
1.)Pitot/static, AOA vane, and engine pylons heated electrically. 2.)Wings, Windshield, engine inlets, heated w/bleed air. 3.)Windshield alcohol ( backup system ) 4.)Pneumatic boots for HSTAB
51
Min N2 for ANTI- ICE:
70%
52
Wing heat limit ( on ground)
1 min *( A pre-TKO check - using the “ Clean A/C Concept” at 5 mins before TKO, should eliminate the need for using wing heat on ground.)*
53
IN THE EVENT OF DC FAIL, WHICH VALVES FAIL OPEN? WHICH VALVES FAIL CLOSED?
W/S, Wing, and Engine A/I valves fail OPEN FCV fail CLOSED
54
HSTAB BOOTS:
Inflated with 16 psi bleed air Do NOT activate at temps below -35 RAT
55
If HSTAB has become iced or boots have failed:
FLAPS are limited to 15* for LDG.
56
In EMER PRESS, which valves fail OPEN - Which valves fail CLOSED -
W/S and EMER - OPEN LH, RH BLEED AIR and FCV - CLOSED
57
ANTI-ICE SYSTEMS ARE:
HOTWINGS / ENGINE INLETS / GEN COOLING DUCT W/S ALCOHOL ELECTRIC PITOT STATIC / PYLON INLETS PNEUMATIC BOOTS ON HSTAB
58
WING HEAT ON GRND:
1MIN
59
ICING PRE- TKO CHECK:
Clean aircraft concept within 5 min before TKO
60
WHAT POSITION DO WING & ENGINE SOV VALVES FAIL? ( when DC has failed )
CLOSED
61
HSTAB BOOT LIMITATION:
DO NOT OPERATE AT TEMPS < -35 RAT
62
DURING DC FAIL… EMER PRESS VALVE FAILS: LH, RH BLEED AIR SOV and FCV FAILS:
OPEN CLOSED
63
HOW IS W/S HEATED DURING DC FAIL?
MANUAL BLEED AIR CONTROL KNOBS W/S ALCOHOL
64
AIR DUCT O’HEAT:
TEMP HAS EXCEEDED 300*F ENTERING CABIN
65
IN MANUAL MODE TEMP CONTROL, WHAT SYSTEM FAILS?
AUTOMATIC AIR DUCT OVERHEAT PROTECTION THE ANNUNCIATOR, ( AIR DUCT O’HEAT ), WILL CONTINUALLY ILLUMINATE UNTIL SYSTEM RESET
66
WHAT DRIVES THE HYD PUMPS?
THE ACCESSORY GEAR BOX
67
WHAT SUBSYSTEMS ARE OPERATED BY THE HYD PUMPS?
FLAPS SPEEDBRAKES LANDING GEAR ATTENUATORS
68
Engine starting limits: ( Wind )
Max tailwind -10kts Max Xwind - 12kts
69
Max time for light off during start:
10 sec
70
Min ambient temp for batt start
-18
71
EPU ( APU) settings
28/1100
72
Hydraulic fluid:
Mil- H- 83282
73
Describe an “ open center” hydraulic system:
W/ engines running, hyd pumps generate a circular low pressure flow. When a sub-system is selected, the bypass valve closes, pressurizing the whole system which directs pressure towards the sub-system selected. The load builds, and the pressure moves the physical parts of the selected sub- system. *This underscores the importance of airspeed limitations WRT Gear and Flaps.*
74
Describe engine start sequence:
Starter- engage Rotation / “8 over the gate” / Fuel flow / Light off ITT rise / Oil pressure rise / 45%N2 - Starter cutout / Stabilized. GOOD START.
75
How many ignitor boxes per engine?
2 primary, 2 redundant. Engine can run with only one.
76
When does engine ignition come on automatically?
START and ENGINE ANTI-ICE selected ON
77
To abort a start:
THROTTLES OFF MOTOR ENGINE 15 SECONDS STARTER DISENGAGE
78
What is a HOT START?
ITT RAPIDLY APPROACHING 1000 DEGREES
79
WHAT IS A FALSE START?
NO ITT or FUEL FLOW WITH IN 10 SECONDS
80
What is a hung start
SLOW or NO ROTATION AFTER IIT INCREASE
81
Max ALT limit valve closes at:
13000
82
