Officers are empowered, but not required to respond to an emergency in the State involving injury or threat of injury…if they use extra-jurisdictional authority, they shall immediately report it to their supervisor

When can an officer release a suspect for a misd arrest? Felony arrest?

-Misd. Prisoners (no warrant) may be released by arresting officer, follow-up investigator, any supervisor, or commander. Felony prisoners shall not be released unless arresting officer is responsible for completing the case, or CIB has been consulted.
