Q

“Theres a girl inside the woman, waiting to get free”

A

1 - her youthful hopes and potential have been stiffled by class constraints, a deep sense of lost identity and entrapment - her real desires remain unfulfilled - she is the “silent casualty” of the socio-economic system

2 - the close syntax of “girl and “woman”, perhaps highlighing the emotional cost of growing up too fast, Linda’s inner vitality is suppressed by her environment, and the pressures of her adulthood.

3 - “waiting to get free” employs ideas of captivity - she is held captive in a futile cycle of poverty, where she must perform to socio-economic standards
