Locution
Actual form of utterance
Illocution
Communicative force of utterance (what was intended by the speaker)
Perlocution
Communicative effect of utterance (what the hearer interprets as the meaning intended by that utterance)
Performative
No truth value, but performs actions whose successful completion rests on felicity conditions. (Assertives, Directives, Expressives)
Directives (Requests)
(Felicity Condition). Hearer is able to complete that act but it is not obvious that the Hearer will do so in the normal course of events of its own accord.
Adjacencey Pair
A specific type of utterance by Speaker A, followed by a specific type of utterance of Speaker B
