comparing 2 DIFFERENT objects using “as”, “like”, “resembles” or “than”.
Metaphor
comparing 2 DIFFERENT objects WITHOUT using “as”, “like”, “resembles” or “than”.
Onomatopoeia
Words that are spelled as the sound.
Ex: Boom! POW! Bang!
flashforward
Story goes from the past to the present or tells the future.
personification
To give something non-human human traits.
Sibilance
Repetition of ‘s’, used to make reference to snakes, pouring water, sizzling noises.
Irony
Something happens or is said that is not expected/opposite (Verbal, situational, dramatic).
