What is latitude?
Lines of latitude circle the Earth in an east-west direction. They are parallel. We use these to measure how far north or south of the equator a place is. The equator splits the world into hemisphere
What is longitude?
Lines of longitude run from the top of the Earth to the bottom. They are not parallel as the follow the curvature of the Earth. These divide the Earth into vertical segments, like an orange. We use these to measure how far east or west of the Prime Meridian a place is.
How is called the line which runs through Greenwich in London?
It is called the Greenwich Meridian or Prime Meridian. The Prime Meridian is 0° longitude.
How we read when we want to find a place by its latitude and longitude?
• Latitude 1st
• Longitude 2nd

Geography is the study of the Earth. It studies people and the environment and how they interact with. Geography is separated into human, physical and sometimes environmental.
What is Physical geography about?
It’s about what our planet is like.
What is Human geography about ?
Its about how and where we live.
What is Environmental geography about?
It’s about how we affect our surroundings.
