Mostly self limiting

Up to 25 days
what is the difference between bronchitis and bronchiolitis?
Bronchitis is constriction of bronchi whilst bronchiolitis is constriction of bronchioles.
Bronchitis - adult and older children mainly
Bronchiolitis - children less than a year old
What are the symptoms of bronchiolitis?
Crackles Wheeze Nasal stuffiness Tachypnoea Poor feeding
How is bronchiolitis treated?
Self-limiting
What is the management of mild pneumonia?
No treatment
What is the first stage of management for pneumonia?
Oral amoxycillin
What is the second stage of management for pneumonia?
Oral macrolide
What is given if a patient with pneumonia is vomiting?
IV medication
What are the key clinical features of pneumonia?
Creps
High fever
Signs are focal
How is empyema treated?
With IV antibiotics
