Give three common causes of lymphadenopathy?
Local inflammation - infection
Systemic inflammatory processes - infection, autoimmune
Malignancy - haematological
What is lymphanigitis?
Red lines expanding from an inflamed region in superficial infection of lymph nodes
What can Virchow’s node suggest in a patient?
Abdominal malignancy - stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, kidney etc.
What is the first type of lymph node that cancer cells are most likely to spread to?
Sentinel lymph node
