What is Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma?
Proliferation of lymphocytes in the lymph nodes and spleen
How do symptoms commonly present in NHL?
Painless Lymphadenopathy
May involve pelvic, retroperitoneal or mesenteric structures
B symptoms: fever, weight loss, drenching night sweats
What is the best initial test for NHL?
Excisional Biopsy
What lab value correlates with worse severity in NHL?
High Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)
What is stage 1 NHL?
1 lymph node group
What is stage 2 NHL?
2 or more lymph node groups on the same side of the diaphragm
What is stage 3 NHL?
Both sides of the diaphragm
What is stage 4 NHL?
Widespread Disease
What mutation is common in NHL?
BCL-2 Mutation: interferes with apoptosis and allows lymphoma to grow

How do you treat local NHL (stages Ia and IIA)?
local radiation and small dose/course of chemotherapy
How do you treat advanced NHL (Stages III and IV: any B symptoms)?
Combination chemotherapy with CHOP and Rituximab (anti-CD20)
What drugs comprise “CHOP” therapy?
Cyclophosphamide
Adriamycin (Doxorubicin or “Hydroxydaunorubicin”)
Vincristine (Oncovin)
Prednisone
What Is NHL subtype Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) Lymphoma associated with?
H. Pylori
What is the treatment for MALT Lymphoma?
Clarithromycin and amoxicillin
