Q

what is the relation of pH to temp?

A

the dissociation constant, Ka, for the weak acid changes with temp resulting in small change in pH.. pK remains constant

Q

buffering effect can be stated as: if K is small, the buffering effect is (large/small) because there’s not much (A/HA)in solution

If the value of K increases with temperature, then the buffering effect is (stronger/weaker) at a higher temperature. If K decreases, then the buffering effect is (stronger/weaker) when it’s warmer.

A

small
HA

stronger
weaker
