Traditional Oral Essay
Begins from brainstorming from what students read.
Participatory Lecture
Resembles traditional oral essay but with handouts (blank spaces)
Lecture with uncompleted handouts
- Consists of mini-lectures.
- Interspaced with 10 minutes small group discussion
Feedback Lecture
Uses media such as films, slides or web-based images + traditional lecture
Mediated Lecture
Advantages of Lectures:
Key words lang nilagay ko!!
- economical
- theater
- creative mind at work
- develop listening abilities
Disadvantages of Learning:
Key words ulit!! Some lang nilagay ko.
- Passive Role
- focuse on Teaching of Facts - results in Surface Learning
- Hierachical/ Classical Lecture
- Takes time to plan

1. Announced topic. Reading, watching movies are done in advance.
2. Spontaneous.

- Apply principles, concepts, and theories

- Assists to evaluate beliefs / positions (professional, societal, & ethical)

- Make expectations clear
- Set ground rules
- Arrange physical space
- Plan a discussion starter
- Facilitate, do not discuss
- Encourage quiet members to participate
- Don’t allow monopolies
- Direct the discussion among group members
- Keep the discussion on track
- Clarify when confusion reigns
- Tolerate some silence.
- Summarize when appropriate
