Question 1

What’s the process for operating a M23A motor points?

Answer 1

1. Visually check the tracks and where they are positioned.
2. I would assess the area for any damage or obstructions.
3. Unlock the Padlocks using an AS Key

4.Step on the foot latch and move the short lever from motor into the hand position to isolate

5. Then step on the other foot latch and move the long lever from normal into reverse.
6. Confirm with TC which position they want it in. Lock it up.

Question 2

When a track is already set in the right direction but the motor point has failed what steps do you take to ensure the internal locking mechanism has been engaged?

Answer 2

1.Unlock
2. Move the short lever from motor to hand to isolate.
3. Move Long lever from Normal to Reverse.
4. Move the long lever back from reverse to normal
5. Move the short lever back from hand to motor.
6. Lock
