“Heat oppressed brain”
This quote is in a soliloquay, this is an oxymoron as usually the brain is linked with freedom and thoughts but oppressed juxtaposes that meaning to control something. For a question on macbeth you can link this to his savageness to want to become king, he knows becoming king and murdering duncan will only bring him mental hurt but linking this to freuds “id” macbeth is a slave to his desires and with his “heat opressed brain” can only think about killing duncan. Also you could link this to macbeth being “powerless” as his thoughts are no longer his and are being “oppressed” by both the witches and lady macbeth. With a question on the witches you can say that after just one act together the witches are having a huge effect on macbeth by placeing those thoughts pf being king into his head, you can look at the witches being the “heat” that is controlling his brain showing how power the witches and the supernatural are. For lady macbeth you can also say that she is the “heat” controlling macbeths brain, you could also look at how powerful she is by manipulating macbeth so much “be not the flower but the serpent undr’t”, another way this shows she has power is for her to become queen she is willing putting macbeth under this mental strain which could show that rather than a love for macbeth she has a love for power.
“Something wicked this way comes”
This is a juxtaposition as the witches who are said to be extremley evil are calling macbeth, gods chosen representetive on earth evil. This also shows the dehumanisation of macbeth as he is being called “something” almost as if the witches dont recognise him.
