How was Macbeth influenced by King James’ interest in supernatural?
King James wrote a book called Daemonologie
which was split in 3 parks:
-magic and necromancy
-Witchcraft and sorcery
-Spirits and spectres
Which are all included in Macbeth.
Why is the Divine Right of Kings so important?
God choses the king himself so the king is the closest person to God, the great chain of being
(Macbeth fails as he goes to the witches - demonic beings-)
Why is the great chain of being relevant?
When Macbeth commits regicide he also commits a sin against the order of the universe.
“A falcon, Was by a mousing owl hawk’d at and killed” -animal imagery represents regicide and the disruption of the natural order.
