21
Q

What tool would you use to cut angles into wood. For example create a 45 degree angle?

22
Q

If you needed to cut a large sheet of plywood in half, what tool would you use?

23
Q

What tool would you use to cut out details, like on a toy for example

24
Q

What tool would you use to cut through some metal pipework

A

A Metal Cutting Chop Saw

25
What tool would you use to cut through some metal pipework
A Metal Cutting Band Saw
26
How would you clean up the edges of a piece of vacuum formed plastic
Use a Vacuum Form trimmer - Otherwise known as a Gerbil
27
What tool would you use to smooth or shape the edges of a piece of timber
Disc Sander
28
What tool could be used to finish off an inside cutout like the one we see here in the toy dog?
A Bobbin Sander
29
What tool could we use to sharpen metal tools
A Bench Grinder
30
What tool could we use to use to help a piece of jewlwery sparkle?
A Polishing Machine
31
What tool should we use to ensure that our wooden sheet materials are all the same thickness?
A Planer Thicknesser
32
What tool could we use to create a groove in a piece of wood
A table router
33
We need to create ten identical wormgears out of metal. Which tool should we use to ensure they are all acurately idential?
A CNC Milling Machine
34
We have a piece of metal rod which we need to alter to add a screw thread onto. Which tool could we use?
A Manual Milling Machine
35
What tool should we use to drill or punch a hole acurately into a piece of wood
A Pillar Drill
36
What tool should we use to create a square or rectangular hole in a piece of wood. To make a mortice and tenon joint for example.
A Mortice Machine
37
What machine could we use to make a baseball bat out of a wooden rectangular cuboid?
Use a Wood Lathe
38
What tool could we use to cut grooves into pieces of metal?
A manual central lathe
39
If I needed to create several identical metal chess pieces, what tools could I use?
A CNC Central Lathe ## Footnote The Computer ensures that each piece is identical
40
How could I cut large metal sheet materials. Is there a machine I could use. What is it called?
A Foot Guillotine
41
Pillar Drills can have their speed adjusted. What is the purpose of this?
The larger the hole, the slower the speed is usually a decent guide to judge this. Also, the materials being cut through will dictate the speed. Metal will require a slower speed than wood, for example.
