A

Major incident - any occurrence that presents serious threat to the health of the community or causes such numbers or types of casualties that require special arrangements to be implemented
Mass casualty incident - has potential to overwhelm rapidly despite implementation of the incident response plan

Maintain an overview of the room - no direct involvement in patient care
All calls from MI phone must be taken and logged in MI log book
Ensure all patients recorded in trauma book
Assign incoming patients to bays and teams prioritising care according to acuity
Communicate with ED staff coordinator
Lease regularly with ED command team
Work with resus lead doctor to maintain resus safety and flow
Discharge patients from CRS at time of departure
