Q

How do you make an Insoluble salt?

A

Use a precipitation reaction.

Pick two soluble salts and react the, to get the insoluble salt

Q

What is the method for making insoluble salts?

A

. 1 spatula of lead nitrate , add water, used deionised water. Shake it to make it all react. Do the same with sodium chloride

  1. Pour both in a beaker and stir. The lead chloride should precipitate out
  2. Put in filter paper into a filter funnel and a conical flask
  3. Put the contents into the middle . Make sure that the solutions does not go above the filter paper - otherwise some of the solid could dribble down the side.
  4. Pour more water onto the paper to make sure all precipitate is collected
  5. Rinse the contents your left with soluble sodium nitrate - to make sure you get all the precipitate from the beaker
  6. Scrape the lead chloride onto the filter paper and leave to dry.
