Scrotum
External anatomy which holds the testicles and epididyms.
Testicles
site of sperm and seminal production
Epididyms
long, coiled tubes connecting to each testicle, sperm cells are stored here and allowed to mature
Vas Deferens
Tube which connects the epididymis to the urethra. Carries seminal fluids and sperm cells to the cloaca
Urethra
carries urine from the bladder for excretion and semen to the end of penis
Seminal Vesicles
produce seminal fluids, which protect and help transport sperm
prostate gland
acts as a filter for all fluid flowing through the urethra
Cowper’s gland
produces fluid which moves down the urethra ahead of the seminal fluid
Sigmoid flexure/Retractor muscle
retracts the penis when it’s not in use
Sheath
External tissue which it is not in use
Penis
Delivers semen containing sperm to the vagina of the female
Cloaca
Location of junction from the urinary, reproductive, and digestive systems prior to excretion
