A
- God selected the king and gave him the ultimate power on Earth
- Only had to answer to God
- If you disobeyed the king, you disobeyed God, known as sacrilige

- You are punished if you try to alter your place in society

- Elizabeth was tolerant of Catholics and wanted them to live in harmony
