Prove that the Man is the head of the woman
1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
The husband is the wife’s saviour, just as Christ is ours.
Who leads the family?
THE MAN
Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
The man is suppose to lead and command his household in the ways of the Lord, meaning to instruct his family in the laws of God and to do them.
A man MUST provide for his own household.
1 Timothy 5:8
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel
If a man does not provide for his own household, he has denied the faith. if you do not take care of your own household, you are worse than an infidel (unbeliever). An unbeliever is not getting the kingdom of heaven. An unbeliever is destined for death.
How do a man provide?
A man must work.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
In order for a man to provide for himself and his household, he must work. If a man does not work, he won’t be able to take care of himself and his family
If a man desires to be married, and be a husband. What must he do first?
Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
A man must leave his father and mother house first. He must provide somewhere to live in order to be able to take on a wife. He cannot be living with his parents, or with somebody else trying to take on a wife.
If a man is not doing his job to take care of his wife, and she is taking care of him. How will she act?
Ecclesiasticus 25:22
A woman, if she maintain her husband, is full of anger, impudence, and much reproach.
She will be full of anger, Impudence (she will be cocky, insulting in speech and behavior.) because she is taking care of you when it is your duty to take care of her.
The man is responsible for teaching the wife.
1 Corinthians 14:33-35
[33]For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
[34]Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
[35]And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
A man is responsible for teaching the wife, walking through the scriptures, explaining things to her, guiding her in ALL THINGS. It is your responsibility to teach your wife, not the church.
A MAN MUST STUDY
2 Timothy 2:15
[15]Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You have to study to be approved to be able to rightly divide the word of truth. Why? YOU MUST STUDY TO BE ABLE TO TEACH YOUR WIFE. If you dont study, how can you teach your wife if you don’t understand. When you dont study, you are not providing what you are suppose to as a husband. if you’re unable to teach her, you are not doing your full part as a husband.
Husbands, how are you suppose to deal with the wife?
1 Peter 3:7
[7]Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
You are to deal with your wife according to knowledge; which is the laws of God. You are to give honor (respect) unto the wife.
Husbands Love your Wife
Ephesians 5:33
[33]Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
You are commanded to love your wife as yourself. You should not be calling your wife names, cussing her out, beating on her. If you dont do it to yourself, you should not be doing it to her. You are commanded to take care of her like you take care of you. EXAMPLE: It shouldnt be where you go shopping for yourself all the time and your wife is wearing hand-me-down clothes. You should be shopping for the wife like you shop for yourself.
Live joyfully with your wife
Ecclesiastes 9:9
[9]Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
The man is the prize, not the woman
1 Corinthians 11:8-9
[8]For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
[9]Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Your Wife is going to piss you off, don’t be bitter
Colossians 3:19
[19]Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
What are the MOST IMPORTANT things a man must provide for his own family?
Ecclesiasticus 29:21
The chief thing for life is water, and bread, and clothing, and an house to cover shame.
A man must provide water, food, clothing, and housing to cover shame which is the chief (most important) thing for life.
