Planning (as an Org)
essential part of every business, whether that is in the form of laying out a strategic framework, or making contingency plans for emergencies.
four main plans of business
Strategic planning, Operations planning, tactical planning, Contingency-level planning
Strategic planning
looks at the long-term issues of the organization, and helps develop a plan for growth or change of business function.
Operations planning
focuses on day-to-day issues, such as staffing levels or inventory quantities. includes more detailed objectives with concrete deadlines and task assignments.
tactical planning
used to reach the goals set out by strategic and operational planning. includes short-term objectives and tasks designed to create specific results within a limited time span. often include operational level plans, and make way for the development of contingency level plans.
Contingency-level planning
includes more detailed action items with specified responses in case of unexpected events or emergencies, such as natural disasters or extreme weather events that disrupt business operations.
Organizational communication
refers to the communication that takes place between people who are working towards common goals within an organization. consists of the interactions that take place for the purpose of working together towards these goals or conducting business in general
Organization Communication Types
there are two main types of formal communication: internal and external communication.
Internal communication
refers to the interactions that take place within the organization. can include communication between employees, communication between managers, or a combination of the two.
External communication
refers to the communication processes which take place outside of the organization. This includes interactions with other businesses or organizations, vendors, suppliers, customers, shareholders, investors, and other parties outside of the organization.
Informal Communication
The grapevine refers to the informal communication that takes place in a business. It is considered unofficial communication within the business since the information does not directly come from an employee at a level of authority.

Communication in management
an extremely important concept that can make or break an organization. Management is comprised of the upper division of an organization that is responsible for coordination and decision-making. When coordinating staff, goals, and expectations and making decisions that affect the organization’s employees, a manager must consider communication and how to best implement it.

contains three principles: the transmission of information, coordination of efforts, and sharing of emotions and feelings. T
Managerial Communication characteristics/skills
Clarity and completeness of the message. The manager must brief the recipient so that the recipient incorporates the right amount of context into the message. Management communicates the right objectives. High integrity and consistency of the message. Proper feedback channels. Proper timing
Communication Climae
In managerial communication, this factors the significance of the cultural norms, sender, receiver, and the reason behind the communication
must be open and clear. An open and transparent communication climate should allow employees to develop a consciousness of what is expected in their performance and what will be evaluated.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA
Enforce health and safety regulations, regulates workplace safety and health by issuing safety and health standards.
Occupational Safety and Health Act (1970)
OSHA was established to make sure that workers have the most safe and healthy work conditions possible.
Employer responsibilities from OSHA
Employers must provide a safe workplace, follow all safety and health standards, discover and correct safety and health problems, try to eliminate or reduce a hazard rather than relying on protective equipment, be informed and trained on chemical hazards, provide safety training in a way employees can understand, perform testing of facilities and medical testing of workers, keep accurate records of work illnesses and injuries, provide protective equipment to employees at no cost, publicly post information required to be displayed, prohibit employers from retaliation or discrimination against workers for asserting their rights under OSHA
Employee Rights OSHA
Employees should have working conditions that do not present a serious risk of harm, right to training and information about hazards, right to receive information about workplace injuries, illnesses, tests conducted on facilities and their work-related medical records, right to participate in OSHA inspections and speak with inspectors in private, right to file a confidential complaint for an inspection, right to file a complaint if they have been retaliated or discriminated against for asserting any of their rights
Management technology
refers to the technological systems utilized to run schools in the areas of finance, human resources, student information systems, and classroom tools.

Student Information Systems
or SIS, is an information technology system used to warehouse student data. Data can be input upon registration by district office personnel and then utilized at the building and classroom level.
Impact of Information Systems on Classrooms
An accurate and efficient technology and information system at the district level can also impact individual classrooms and assist teachers in daily instruction. Efficiency and accuracy of data are two advantages of using systems
