What is Accountability?
Taking responsibility or being responsible for someone or a task.
What does Caring mean?
To show regard, interest or concern for others.
What is Discretion?
To act without drawing attention to one’s self.
To keep things private that should not be repeated.
What is Empathy?
To understand how someone else is feeling; to put one’s self in his or her shoes.
What does Excellence mean?
To be above the normal standard; to be the best.
What are Expectations?
What others are depending on us to do, or what we are expecting someone else to do.
What is Forgiveness?
Letting go of bad feelings towards someone.
What does Honesty mean?
Being truthful, sincere and fair.
What is Integrity?
Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
What is Peer Pressure?
Feeling forced to do something because everyone else is doing it.
What does Personal Control mean?
Being able to say ‘NO’ to something others are encouraging you to do.
What is Respect?
To show consideration for others and their feelings.
What does Responsible mean?
Being in charge of one’s actions and being answerable for one’s behaviors.
What is Rudeness?
A behavior lacking courtesy or consideration to others.
What is Sportsmanship?
Someone who exhibits polite behavior even or especially when things go wrong; someone who can take a joke.
What does Sympathy mean?
To understand and feel emotion for someone at a time of sadness.
What is Tolerance?
To show kindness and sympathy for those who are not like us; to enjoy differences without complaining.
Where should nametags be worn?
Nametags are always worn on the right side.
Why are nametags worn on the right side?
This way, when you shake hands with someone, the eye is automatically drawn to the other person’s nametag.
What are the steps for a proper handshake?
- Always stand when shaking someone’s hand.
- Step out from behind a desk or table.
- Clasp hands so that the web between thumbs and index fingers meet.
- Pump hands once or twice—not too long.
- Maintain good eye contact and posture.
What are the five ‘S’s to a good introduction?
- Smile.
- Stand up straight.
- See—make eye contact.
- Shake firmly.
- Say: ‘Hi! My name is… I don’t believe we’ve met.’
How do you introduce yourself to someone new?
Extend your right hand, look the person in the eye, smile and say, ‘Hi, I’m ________.’
How do you introduce yourself if a friend does not introduce you?
Speak up right away and say, ‘Hi, I’m _________. Sam and I know each other from baseball.’
What is the first rule when introducing others?
The person’s name you say first is the person you want others to meet.
