What are the ridges of the brain called?
The gyrus - plural are gyri
What are the grooves in the brain called?
The sulcus - plural are sulci
What is either side of the central sulcus?
Precentral and postcentral gyrus
What are where are each of the 4 lobes?
Frontal lobe - front of the forehead
Parietal lobe - back and top of the head
Temporal robe - behind the ears, lower front
Occipital - back part of the brain behind temporal and parietal
What is in front of the central sulcus towards the front of the brain?
The pre central gyrus
What is behind the central sulcus towards the back of the brain?
Post-central gyrus
Where is the central sulcus?
Between frontal and parietal lobe
What is the frontal lobe responsible for?
Executive functions, personality and emotional interpretation
What is the parietal lobe responsible for?
Sensation
What is the temporal lobe responsible for?
Hearing and memory
What is the occipital lobe responsible for?
interpreting vision

Smell

Eye movement
